Surely you already imagining how your life will change once you have your baby. But have you thought about how your first days at home with your baby will be after coming back from the hospital?
The first days of your and your baby's new life are very important. It is an intensely happy time that should be enjoyed to the fullest. But the homecoming and adjusting to the new situation - especially by your newborn - can be particularly demanding as well. You are recovering from childbirth. You may suffer physical complaints or you may feel exhausted by the constant need for attention of your baby. You will need to deal with the accumulating domestic tasks, attend to guests, etc. You may feel insecure about how to attend to your baby, and how to organise your new life. Do not doubt that you will eventually cope and become an expert mother. But these first days are very taxing, especially when the future grandparents or other direct family are not around to lend a helping hand.
If you worry how you will manage, and if you want to enjoy this special period to the fullest, ... this is where Maternitas' maternity care comes in!
Maternitas provides a maternity care service, where a certified midwife helps, supports and looks after a mother and her new born baby during the first days after birth.
The maternity nurse will show you how to care for your newborn baby. For example, how to breastfeed properly, and how to bathe the baby. The nurse will monitor the health and progression of you and your baby. She will ensure optimal conditions of hygiene and help you get your much-needed rest. She is there for you, for advice, if needed to comfort you, to co-ordinate visits. Maternitas is there for anything to ensure the optimal conditions for you and your new-born baby to prosper and enjoy, and to help you regain full autonomy as quick as possible.
As a rule, Maternitas provides a maternity nurse at your home for 3 hours daily, during the first 5 or 8 days after returning from childbirth from the hospital (excluding the weekend). However, our maternity care is flexible and service hours can be adjusted. During a preparatory interview we will evaluate your specific home situation and try to accommodate most of your wishes.
